Hockey Sweater Moose

Collaboration with Susan L. Brown
Created for Toronto’s Mooseum project
Paint on fibreglas, rubber puck

Growing up in Toronto, so many of us — hockey fans or not — identify with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Our moose is dressed in the sweater of Captain George Armstrong who wore #10 for over 20 years and 1000 games, an exemplary leader, holder of many career records, and of native heritage. It is the road jersey style of 1967, the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup.

"George", as we call him, was one of the pack leaders in the city’s charity auction, selling for over $10,000.
