Wedding Canopy/Prayer Shawl

Wool, cotton, silk, metallic fibres
8-harness Summer and Winter weave
112 x 191 cm. (44" x 75"), plus fringe
Poles: bamboo, ribbon, abalone shells

The six horizontal bands of beige and grey represent both the days of the week and the progressive closeness of the couple. On Shabbat these are transformed into a collar of silver and gold to encircle the wearer.

The fluttering ribbons and gentle sound of the shells also enhanced the outdoor ceremony.

Consider commissioning a tallit for the groom or bride. I will show you how to adapt it easily and safely to become their chuppah.
