This chuppah is designed for use in both the sanctuary and chapel of the synagogue. Its rich middle-Eastern colours and voluminous form evoke a lavish tent.
The gold and silver swirls of stars coming together represent the Baal Shem Tov's midrash that when destiny unites two people in marriage, their individual spirits create an even greater light. The text in Hebrew and English is from the Zohar, where Rabbi Don Isaac Abravanal claimed that love breaks mathe-matical rules, by making one into two and two into one.
