Bringing stories to life

The essence of all that I do is bringing stories to life.  For the past several years my major pursuit has been Torah Stitch By Stitch, a project of profound collaborative engagement and education involving almost 1500 stitchers in 28 countries. After our magnificent exhibition at the Textile Museum of Canada, and with COVID waning, it’s time to return to my beautiful studio and art practice.

Please visit in person in downtown Toronto, or virtually worldwide.

My website is still a work in progress, and new portfolio projects are added frequently. Please bookmark temmagentles.com  to view updates.

In the meantime, enjoy these portfolio sections, and visit the boutique.

A personal note about the background image: While working on a suite of pieces recently I got to the end of a roll of thread.  This would not bear mentioning, except that it had been a very large spool I “borrowed” from my grandfather, who was a tailor and owned a ladies’ wear store in Toronto with my grandmother.  I have used it for basting on just about every project I have done for more than 40 years.
